Shariq Alavi

Born in 1935 in a Zamindar family of Barabanki. Had his early education in missionary schools. Did his M.Sc in 1958 from Lucknow University. In 1959 joined State Police  Service from where retired in 1993.

                Had a flair of writing from very beginning. Contributed to many magazines and newspapers. After retirement took over the editorship of Azad Academy Journal and later he was entrusted with editorship of “The Fragrance of East.”
